Journalist Lanai Scarr, and her husband James, welcomed their triplets on January 11 and have named them James Maxwell, Nathaniel Lucas, and Edith Olivia. The triplets have a big sister named Molly, aged 2.

Lanai is the national political reporter for the Sunday Telegraph, and documented her pregnancy week-by-week in Kidspot magazine, as well as writing numerous newspaper articles on having triplets.

Shaun Burgoyne, and his wife Amy, welcomed their daughter Nixie Blue last September. Nixie joined big sister Leni, and big brothers Ky and Percy. Shaun began his career at Port Adelaide in 2002, and signed with Hawthorn in 2015. He has also been chosen for the national team, the Indigenous All-Stars, and the Dream Team. Shaun is the younger brother of Peter Burgoyne, and the son of Peter Burgoyne Sr; both of them played for Port Adelaide.

Levi Casboult, and his wife Hayley, welcomed their son Lonnie Charles last August [pictured]. Levi has played for Carlton since 2012.

Former player Cameron Mooney, and his wife Seona, welcomed their daughter Frankie Lee on Valentine’s Day this year. Frankie joins big brother Jagger, and big sisters Billi and Stevie. Cameron retired from the Geelong Cats after the 2011 season, and was also chosen for the Dream Team. Since retiring, he has regularly made television appearances as a football commentator and panellist.

TV chef Adam Liaw, and his wife Asami, welcomed their daughter Anna in early February; Anna joins big brother Christopher, aged 2 [pictured]. Anna arrived earlier than expected, while Adam and his family were in Adelaide for Chinese New Year and the Fringe Festival. Adam was born in Malaysia and grew up in Adelaide; he worked as a lawyer and lived in Japan, where he met his wife. In 2010 he won the second season of MasterChef Australia, his victory the most-watched non-sporting TV event in Australian history. Since then he has written several cookbooks, and hosts the Destination Flavour TV series on SBS.

Former AFL player Gavin Wanganeen, and his wife Pippa, welcomed their daughter Posey Theadora on February 18. Posey joins sisters Kitty and Lulu, whose births have been featured on the blog, and Gavin has children named Tex and Mia from a previous marriage, who are Posey’s siblings. Gavin played for Essendon and Port Adelaide, and retired in 2006.

Model and actress Tahyna Tozzi, and her husband, dancer Tristan McManus, welcomed their first child on April 5, and have named their daughter Echo Isolde. Tahyna has been modelling since she was 8 years old, and is best known for playing the role of Perri on Blue Water High. She has been in several films, most notably X-Men Origins: Wolverine. She is the sister of model Cheyenne Tozzi. Tristan is is an award-winning dancer from Ireland best known for his appearances on the US version of Dancing With the Stars, and Strictly Come Dancing in the UK.

Actress Kym Valentine, and her husband, former AFL footballer Trent Croad, welcomed their first child together on April 1 [pictured] and have named their son Phoenix Valentine. Kym has a daughter named Millana from her marriage to singer Fabio Tolli, and Trent has two daughters named Kiera and Sierra from his marriage to Tanya Stewart. Kym is best known for her long-running role as Libby Kennedy on soap opera Neighbours, and Trent played for Hawthorn for almost a decade before retiring in 2010.

Author Sofie Laguna, and her husband, artist Marc McBride, welcomed their son Milo a year ago, a brother for Sonny. Sofie studied law, and worked as an actress before becoming an author and playwright. She has written numerous children’s books and picture books, several plays, and two highly-regarded adult novels: The Eye of the Sheep won the 2015 Miles Franklin Award. Marc is originally from Ireland, and moved to Australia to study design. An award-winning fantasy artist, he is best known for illustrating the Deltora Quest children’s book series.

Artists Vicki Lee and Ted O’Donnell welcomed their daughter Yokie on March 6 last year. Vicki is an artist and designer with her own store, and Ted is a photographer. Vicki became well known to the public as a close friend of celebrity mum Lara Bingle, and gave birth shortly before her. Like her gal pal, Vicki has chosen an unusual name for her baby, which she says means “night rain” (I have seen Yoki translated as a Hopi name meaning “rain”, so perhaps this is the origin).

Fitness model Chontel Duncan, and her husband Sam, welcomed their first child on March 25 and have named their son Jeremiah Thomas, apparently nicknamed Miah. Chontel is a former Miss Universe finalist and fitness trainer who has become an online sensation since documenting her pregnancy on Instagram.

Equestrian champ Danielle Weymark, and her partner Matthew Johnson, welcomed twins named Oliver and Lara last month [pictured]. Danielle became disabled after surviving meningococcal meningitis as a baby, losing most of her left arm, right hand, and parts of both feet to the disease. She began riding horses at the age of 8, and has gone on to win many dressage competitions in both para-sport and open contests. Danielle hopes to represent Australia at the Paralympic Games.

Veteran surfer Taj Burrow, and his girlfriend, model Rebecca Jobson, welcomed their first child in October last year, and have named their daughter Arabella Rose. Taj began surfing at the age of 7, and at 18 was the youngest surfer ever to win a national title. He has had twelve ASP Tour wins, written a book on surfing, and produced his own series of surfing videos. Taj has just announced his retirement. Rebecca starred on Australia’s Next Top Model.

Retired netball star Liz Ellis, and her husband, former rugby union player Matthew Stocks, welcomed their second child on April 4 and have named their son Austin Ralph. Austin joins big sister Audrey, aged 4; Audrey’s birth was featured on the blog.

Sports reporter Roz Kelly, and her husband, South African cricketer Morné Morkel, welcomed their first child last September and have named their son Arias Flynn. Roz was a reporter for Channel Nine, and is now commentating the Big Bash League for Channel Ten.

Dino Đulbić and his wife Bonnie welcomed their second child in February, and have named their daughter Charlie. Charlie joins big brother Esad, aged 2. Dino is originally from Bosnia, and has been playing football since 2001. He has has played for clubs in Australia, Germany, China, and the United Arab Emirates, and been selected for the Australian national squad. He has been with Perth Glory since 2014.

Danny Vukovic and his wife Kristy welcomed their first child last year and have named their son Harley [pictured]. Unfortunately, Harley has been very sick and needs a new liver, so we wish him a speedy recovery. Danny has been playing football since 2002, and has played for clubs in Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, and Japan. He signed with Melbourne Victory last year.

Corey Enright and his wife Renee welcomed their second child on March 18 and have named their son Tex Marley. Tex joins big brother Boh, aged 3; Boh’s birth was featured on the blog, and picture shows Boh and Tex together, from Instagram. Corey plays for the Geelong Cats, and Renee is a fashion stylist and columnist.

Tom Lynch and his partner Courtney welcomed their second child on April 9 and have named their daughter Tayla; Tayla joins big brother Koby, aged 3. Tom has been playing football since 2009 and is currently with the Adelaide Crows.

Mark Ricciuto and his wife Sarah welcomed their sixth child on April 4 and have named their son Tom. Tom joins sisters Rosie and Sophie, and brothers Nick, Joe, and Rocco. Mark played football for the Adelaide Crows from 1993 to 2007, and was also selected to play for the international team. He won numerous awards, including the Brownlow Medal, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. He currently works as a football commentator for Triple M and Fox Sports.

Actors Kat Stewart and David Whiteley welcomed their daughter Georgia on March 16, known as Gigi. Gigi joins big brother Archie, aged 4; Archie’s birth was featured on the blog. Kat plays Billie Proudman on hit drama series Offspring, while David is primarily a stage actor and theatre director.

Comedian Kate McLennan and her partner Joel Elbourne welcomed their first child last spring, and have named their daughter Dusty. Kate is a stand-up comedian and actress who has appeared on TV shows such as Winners and Losers, House Husbands, Offspring, and The Project. Joel is a town planner.

Kate’s comedy partner is Kate McCartney, and she her partner Robert Coleman welcomed a daughter named Millie shortly before Kate and Joel. Kate is a comedy writer and performer; as well as her own books, she has written for (and sometimes appeared in) shows such as Hamish and Andy, The Big Bite, Adam Hills Tonight, and Dirty Laundry Live. She has also been in Kath and Kim and Outland. Robert is a writer and journalist who runs a creative agency.

Kates McLennan and McCartney star in The Katering Show, a culinary parody which has been picked up by ABC iView after becoming a YouTube hit. Their web series Bleak has just been picked up by the ABC.

Luke Lewis and his wife Sonia welcomed their daughter Hazel Nicola on April 5. Luke played for the Penrith Panthers for many years, but has been signed with the Cronulla Sharks since 2013. Veteran Luke has also been selected for the Australian national team, the New South Wales state team, City Origin, and the NRL All Stars.

Aidan Guerra and his fiancee Belinda Bartholomew-Walsh welcomed their daughter Olive Belle on March 31. Olive is Belinda’s mother’s middle name, while Belle is her own nickname. Aidan has played for the Sydney Roosters since 2010, and has been selected for the national teams of both Italy and Australia, as well as Queensland’s state team.

Sam Moa and his wife Jill welcomed their daughter Florence Elizabeth on March 25. Sam is originally from Tonga, and has played rugby league in both Australia and England. He is currently signed with the Sydney Roosters, and has played for the national teams of both Tonga and New Zealand.

James Graham and his partner Taryn welcomed their daughter Harlow in January. James is an international footballer from England who has played for St Helen’s in the Super League, but has been signed with the Canterbury Bulldogs since 2012; he is now the club’s captain. He has played for Great Britain and England, and also been chosen for the NRL All Stars in Australia.

John Sutton and his wife Stacey welcomed their son Ace Semesi last September, a little brother for Pippi, aged 4; Pippi’s birth was featured on the blog. Ace is a celebrity-inspired name, as Stacey admired the name Jessica Simpson chose for her son, and Semesi is a family name, the Samoan form of Sam. John has played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs since 2004, and also been chosen for the Prime Minister’s XIII and City Origin.

Model and actress Paige Butcher, and her boyfriend, American comedian and actor Eddie Murphy [pictured], welcomed their first child together on May 3 in Los Angeles and have named their daughter Izzy Oona. Eddie has eight other children from previous relationships, and their names are Eric, Christian, Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola, Bella, and Angel. Paige is from Perth, won a modelling contract in 1994 before going to New York, and has appeared in movies including Big Momma’s House. Eddie is well known as a comedian who gained success on Saturday Night Live, and went on to star in films such as Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America, The Golden Child, The Nutty Professor, Dr Dolittle, Shrek, and Dreamgirls.

Former ballerina Marie-Claire D’Lyse, and her husband, ballet dancer Shane Wuerthner, welcomed their daughter Dominque Vienne on April 22. Marie-Claire is from Brisbane, and trained at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. She joined the Queensland Ballet in 1997, before becoming a soloist at the Vienna State Opera Ballet in 2000, and then joining the San Francisco Ballet in 2012. Shane is American-born, and has performed with the Vienna State Opera Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet, becoming Principal Dancer with the Queensland Ballet in 2014. Former NRL star Mal Meninga and his wife Amanda welcomed their daughter Eva last October, a sister for Zach, aged 2, and Elijah, aged 3; both Zach and Elijah had their births featured on the blog. Mal has two adult children named Tamika and Josh from his first marriage.

Greg Bird and his wife Becky welcomed their daughter Finley Elise on April 6 [pictured]. Greg has played rugby league in both Australia and France, and has been signed with the Gold Coast Titans since 2010. He has been selected for the Australian national team, the New South Wales state team, Country Origin, the Indigenous All-Stars, and the Prime Minister’s XIII.

Dane Gagai and his partner Kelly Turner welcomed their son Dante in May. Dane first played for the Brisbane Broncos, but has been with the Newcastle Knights since 2012. He has been selected for the Queensland state team, and for the Prime Minister’s XIII. Of Torres Strait Islander heritage, Dane has been chosen for the Indigenous All-Stars, but is eligible to play for New Zealand as well.

Josh Hodgson and his wife Kirby welcomed their son George on June 2. Josh is an English player who was with Hull FC and Hull KR for several years before signing with the Canberra Raiders last season. Josh has played both for the England Knights, and for England’s national squad. (Information from post-match interview).

Cricketer Shaun Marsh, and his wife Rebecca, welcomed their son Austin Ross on June 11 [pictured]. Shaun plays for the Western Australian state team, and made his test debut for Australia in 2011. He plays for the Perth Scorchers in Twenty20, and for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League. Shaun is the son of former cricketer Geoff Marsh, and brother of cricketer Mitchell Marsh and WNBL basketball player Melissa Marsh.

AFL footballer Josh Kennedy, and his partner Lauren Atkinson, welcomed their daughter Lottie Rae on May 28. Josh has been with the West Coast Eagles since 2008, and won the Coleman Medal in 2015.

Racing commentator Francesca Cumani, and her husband, polo player Rob Archibald, welcomed their son Harry last month. Francesca was a successful amateur jockey before becoming a commentator on CNN and Channel Seven; she is the daughter of Italian horse trainer Luca Cumani. Rob has played polo for Australia, and spends part of each year playing in both England and Argentina.

Rugby union player Matt Carraro and his wife Nardia welcomed their daughter Myla on March 3, a sister for Chase age 2. Matt has played rugby for teams in Australia, England, and France, and has been signed with the Waratahs since 2014; he also plays for the NSW Country Eagles.

Radio host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli and his wife Lisa [pictured] welcomed their second child around June 19 and have named their son Jack Walter David, a brother for TheodoreTed“, age 16 months; Ted’s birth was featured on the blog. Michael is co-host of Fitzy and Wippa on Nova FM alongside Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald.

Television presenter Adam Dovile, and his wife Lisa Lamond, welcomed their first child a month ago and have named their daughter Arabella Jacqueline. Adam and Lisa won the second season of renovation reality show House Rules in 2014, and last year Adam became the DIY presenter on Better Homes and Gardens, winning a Logie Award this year for Best New Talent.

Reality TV participants Cassie and Ryan Thistleton welcomed their fourth child earlier this month and have named their daughter Mena Lee. Cassie and Ryan already have a young daughter named Emmerson, an older daughter from Cassie’s previous relationship, and lost a baby boy named Dex. Cassie and Ryan took part in the “spouse swap” show Seven Year Switch.

American plus size model Tess Holliday, and her Australian fiance Nick Holliday, welcomed their first child together on June 6 and have named their son Bowie Juniper; he is a brother for 10-year-old Rylee, Tess’ son from a previous relationship. Last year Tess became the largest plus-size model signed by a mainstream modelling agency; popular on Instagram for her positive body image campaign, she has been named one of the top plus-size models in the world. Nick is an artist and photographer who moved to the US to be with Tess after meeting her on social media.

American reality TV star Audrina Partridge, and her fiance, Australian dirt bike rider Corey Bohan, welcomed their first child on June 25 and have named their daughter Kirra Max. Audrina starred in the MTV reality TV series The Hills, and briefly had her own spin-off show, Audrina; she now hosts a late-night travel show. Corey has been a professional BMX dirt bike rider since 2002 and was the first athlete to win in three consecutive years at the X Games – in 2004, 2005, and 2006. He took part in one episode of The Hills, and met Audrina during filming. Kirra is a beach from Corey’s home state of Queensland, while Max is the current unisex darling for celebrities to choose for daughters.

Balinese actor Kadek Mahardika and his Australian wife Laura recently welcomed their second child and have named their son Lenny, a brother for Mila [pictured]. When he was born they couldn’t decide between Jordy and Lenny so they chose the name using the “rock scissors paper” method – apparently Laura’s choice won. Kadek is best known for his role of Ketut, Rhonda’s Balinese holiday romance in the popular “Rhonda and Ketut” series of advertisements for AAMI car insurance.

Comedian and radio host Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann and his wife Kelly welcomed their first child on July 26 and named their son Laddie Buster [pictured]. Lehmo has been a stand up comedian since the 1990s, and appeared in TV sketch shows in both Australia and the UK. He currently does breakfast radio on Gold 104.3, stars in comedy series Utopia, and makes appearances on The Project and Have You Been Paying Attention? Kelly (nee Kearney) is a television producer.

News presenter Talitha Cummins and her husband Ben Lucas welcomed their first child on August 1 and named their son Oliver Paul. Talitha is the news presenter on Weekend Sunrise and also reads the news on Triple M radio. Ben is a personal trainer.

Actor Gyton Grantley and his wife Alexandra Ortuso welcomed their first child on August 10 and named their son Rocco James, to be known as “Rocky“. Well known from television, Gyton shot to fame in crime drama series Underbelly and is currently one of the stars of popular comedy series House Husbands; he has also been in several film, including Beneath Hill 60, Balibo, and Danny Deckchair. Alex is a schoolteacher.

Connie Mitchell and her husband Angus McDonald, otherwise known as dance music duo Sneaky Sound System, welcomed their first child on August 23 and named their son Iggy Ajax. Iggy’s middle name is in honour of the couple’s friend DJ Ajax (Adrian Thomas) who was killed in an accident in 2013. Sneaky Sound System formed in the 2000s, and Connie has been a mentor on The Voice. They are currently on tour in Europe, but came home to have Iggy.

Fashion writer Kate Waterhouse and her husband, former NRL star Luke Ricketson, welcomed their second child on August 8 and named their daughter Grace Gabriel, sister to Sophia, aged 2; Sophia’s birth was featured on the blog. Grace’s middle name is in honour of her grandmother, race horse trainer and businesswoman Gai Waterhouse, whose full name is Gabriel.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy welcomed their third grandchild on August 26 when their daughter Daisy Turnbull-Brown and her husband Captain Andrew Brown had a daughter named Alice Lucinda, a sister for Jack, aged 3; Jack’s birth was featured on the blog. Alice’s middle name is in honour of her grandmother, whose full name is Lucinda.

Sports stars Joe and Renae Ingles welcomed twins on July 26 and named them Jacob Antony and Milla Bernadette. Joe has played basketball in Australia, Spain and Israel; he currently plays for Utah Jazz in the NBA and is a member of the national squad, the Boomers, for which he has played at every Olympics since 2008. The winner of two gold medals and a silver at the FIBA Oceania Championships, Joe also won the Gaze medal in 2009 for being the best player in the Boomers. Renae is a netball champion who currently plays for the Adelaide Thunderbirds and for the national team, the Diamonds. She has won gold at the Netball World Championships, gold and silver at the Commonwealth Games, and bronze at the World Netball Series. She has won numerous awards, including Diamonds International Player twice.

Rugby union footballer Christian Lealiifano and his partner Luga Lam-Young welcomed their first child in June and named their son Jeremih. Jeremih is named after Luga’s favourite singer, but also with the biblical character of Jeremiah in mind. Christian was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia as a small boy. He has played for the Brumbies since 2007 and for the national squad, the Wallabies, since 2013. Last month fans were shocked to hear new dad Christian had been diagnosed with leukaemia: we wish Christian all the best with his treatment.

Football player Massimo Luongo, and his wife Shelley, welcomed their first child on June 15 and named their son Maxwell [pictured]. Massimo’s name is the Italian form of Maximus, so this seems like a way to honour dad without using the same name. Former AFL footballer Brent Reilly, and his wife Jamie, welcomed their first child on June 22 and named their son Jax Cameron. Brent played for the Adelaide Crows for 13 years, retiring last year.

Former cricketer and national batting coach Greg Blewett, and his wife Katheryn, welcomed their second child on July 26 and named him Rory James, a brother for Samuel, aged 18 months; Samuel’s birth was covered on the blog. Greg has a teenaged daughter named Taylor from his previous marriage to Jodie Blewett, now Oddy, who has been featured on the blog as a celebrity mum.

Former Australian rules player Mathew Seal, and his wife Kate Twigley, welcomed their first child on August 30 and named him Levi Samuel. Mathew played in the WAFL, while Kate is the sister of model Rebecca Judd, who has been featured on the blog as a celebrity mum.

Two babies welcomed recently from AFL footballers who play for the Geelong Cats:

Tom Lonergan and his wife Kim welcomed their first child on September 2 and have named their son Bobby Thomas [pictured]. Tom has been playing for the Cats since 2005, and he and Kim were married at the start of this year.

Andrew Mackie and his wife Georgia welcomed their daughter Lindy Milla on August 21, a sister for Freddy, age 3, and Louie, age 2. Andrew has been playing for the Cats since 2005.

Mark “Soda” Soderstrom and his wife Kate welcomed their third child on September 16, and have named their son Otis. Otis joins siblings Felix, age 3, and Sienna, age 1. Mark is co-host of The Breakfast Show on Mix 102.3, and his radio partner Jodie Oddy queried the choice of the name Otis (in a way which implied a name like Otis needs some explanation). Mark revealed that he had seen the name Otis while getting into a lift: Otis are an American company well known for manufacturing elevators.

Alison “Ali” Hill and her husband Brandon welcomed their third child on August 8, and have named their son Seth Alexander [pictured]. Seth joins siblings Samuel, age 10, and Hannah, age 20. Alison is a singer and actress who is a radio presenter on 97.3 Coast FM in Mandurah.
